The 2020/21 season just got a little more exciting as Lake Louise opens 480 acres of new terrain and a quad chair!

It has been 25 years since new terrain has opened in Banff National Park. For those who live for the ski and snowboard season, this is truly exciting news. Lake Louise is already known for its impressive terrain and now it will be even better with 480 acres of new skiable terrain – the West Bowl.

West Bowl is a vast area and is capped by the summit of Whitehorn Mountain. At the top, it offers breathtaking views of the beautiful Canadian Rockies. You can access this area from the Summit Chair which is also a new addition to the resort this year. This new summit chair will bring skiers and snowboarders up the ridge of Whitehorn Mountain in just 4 minutes giving easy access to this new terrain.

This new area is considered advanced-intermediate to expert slopes due to its natural landscape. In fact, some might consider this as “side country” due to its natural ski routes. There will be no precise runs so users can chart their course and explore the bowl in their own way.

Of course, with this authentic wilderness thanks to Mother Nature, Lake Louise recommends that everyone should carry avalanche safety gear and know how to use it.

This surely makes the upcoming season that much more exciting. Lake Louise has always been know for its famous champagne powder and now it got even better.

The winter season opened on October 29th, 2020. Will you be hitting the slopes this year? Click this link to get your tickets/passes!
