Attention all Calgary wizards, witches and muggles: This Sunday, Twenty-four retailers in Kensington will mark J.K. Rowling’s latest release by teaming up to transform Kensington into the famous Diagon Alley!
All fans are encouraged to dress up in costume and check out the many stores that will be decorated to mirror the Diagon Alley shops from the Harry Potter series.
Get your very own Marauder’s Map, to guide you onto your quest in participating venues and event details. Oh and did we mention there will be 20 golden snitches hidden in the area?
“The Kensington BRZ is invested in community building, so when we were approached by one of the businesses to help them create the Harry Potter event, we felt it was a great opportunity to lend our support,” said Ellen Parker, Communication Director at Kensington BRZ.
The event originated from a local fan, who approached the Kensington BRZ with this brilliant idea. Once approved the Kensington Diagon Alley event exploded on Facebook, with 8,500+ confirmed people attending the event.
