From Friday to Sunday of September Long Weekend, round up the family and check out the Shaw Charity Classic!

The golf tournament is a stop on the PGA Champions Tour, host to golf superstars including Tom Watson, Stephen Ames, and John Daly.  In total, there are 6 World Golf Hall of Fame inductees and 15 major championship winners participating, with a total 351 PGA Tour tournaments won between the entire field.

If you can, please wear golf attire or anything business casual, like khakis and a collared shirt. If this isn’t possible, nobody will sweat it.  Golf events don’t have a dress code like golf courses do – make sure your footwear is comfortable, as there is a fair amount of walking involved!

Outside of the action on the green, there are many activities for spectators both young and old to take part in.  For the whole family, there are photo booths, hitting nets, lawn games from Okanagan Spring, and Cowboys and Stingray Music will be hosting a Charity Ball Drop.  The Telesat FunZone will be a great way to keep the kids entertained if they need to take a break from watching the tournament.  Specifically for the adults, there will be beer and wine sampling from Okanagan Spring and Sandhill Wine in the beer gardens.

The event is located at the Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club.  Getting to the event is simple: Take the train to Anderson LRT station and grab a quick shuttle to Canyon Meadows Golf Course & Country Club.  Please note that there is no parking available at the golf course.

To buy tickets, check out www.shawcharityclassic.com. It’s cheaper to buy tickets in advance of the tournament and juniors 17 and under get in free when accompanied by a ticketed adult!
