Whether you’re a young teen or part of the older crowd, music festivals are always a great way to celebrate the wonderful summer weather and catch some of your favorite artists live – we’ve compiled a list of all the festivals confirmed to be happening this summer within a driving distance of Calgary. Trust me – if you’ve never attended a festival, it’s definitely worth checking one out!

Calgary Festivals

Sled Island

Sled Island is an annual five-day music and arts festival in Calgary, Alberta, that brings together over 250 bands, comedians, filmmakers and artists in more than 35 venues across the city. Since 2007, Sled Island’s thoughtful, eclectic programming and independent spirit have fused with Calgary’s youthful energy to produce a one-of-a-kind festival experience.

Calgary Folk Festival

When: July 27th – July 30th

A village where indie singer-songwriters, roots and country veterans and blues masters rub sonic shoulders with global electronica divas, Latin rhythm masters, Ukrainian rock bands and Congolese hipsters. Where on-the-fly collaborations create once-in-a-lifetime magic. All in a verdant urban setting that grounds a laid-back, loving, ecologically astute community-for-a-day. Big Valley Jamboree

When: August 3rd – 6th

Big Valley Jamboree is a celebration of all things country out in Camrose, AB. This year’s lineup features Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Willie Nelson, Little Big Town, Big & Rich, Kacey Musgraves, Chris Young, Gord Bamford, Tanya Tucker, Sam Palladio, Jess Moskaluke, The Washboard Union, The Road Hammers, Jason Blaine, Eric Paslay, George Fox, Williams & Ree and so many more!

Chasing Summer

When: August 5th and 6th

The largest EDM event in Western Canada returns to Calgary for two epic days on August 5 & 6, 2017!

Living in the prairies of Canada is the pursuit of the fleeting. Winter dominates the calendar, while the most desired season of them all – summer – is heartbreakingly short by comparison. Calgary ReggaeFest

When: August 17th – 19th

ReggaeFest happens the third Saturday in August each year.

Calgary’s ReggaeFest isn’t just for Reggae fans. It’s a full day family event that transcends racial, cultural and musical boundaries. With live performances from Canadian and international Reggae artists, ReggaeFest features a beer garden, separate youth area, and plenty of arts & crafts. Northern Lights

Interior BC Festivals

Tall Tree Music Festival

When: June 23rd – 26th

The inaugural Tall Tree Music Festival took place June 25th-26th, 2010 on the west coast of Vancouver Island in the picturesque town of Port Renfrew.
The festival was amazingly positive and displayed the importance of having such events in the Southern Vancouver Island region. With a beautiful mixture of electronic and live bands, the Tall Tree Music Festival brought together people of all genres for a solid two days of dancing. Most importantly, all of those who attended proved to the Port Renfrew township that they were beyond capable of setting the right tone of respect.

In 2011 the event moved to the amazing property known as Browns Mountain and the festival was once again an incredibly positive experience for all in attendance.

Bass Coast

When: July 7th – 10th

Bass Coast remains a pillar of not only innovative electronic music and art within the West Coast festival culture, but an event that stays true to the spirit of community building.

Pemberton Music Festival

When: July 13th – 16th

Grab your friends and leave the world behind for a four-day celebration beneath epic Mount Currie in Pemberton Valley. Full of dancing, food, friendship, and of course — the best music EVER!

Centre Of Gravity Music Festival

When: July 28th – 30th

Canada’s Hottest Beach Festival is back! Now in it’s 10th year, the much anticipated Monster Energy Center of Gravity returns to Kelowna’s City Park July 28 – 30, 2017. Produced by Wet Ape Productions and Live Nation Canada, the biggest, adrenaline-pumping festival to hit the Okanagan includes three days packed with extreme sports, sandy beaches, bikinis, and some of the biggest DJ names in the world.

Shambhala Music Festival

Seasons Music Festival

Vancouver Folk Festival
