What is Beakerhead?

Over the next week Calgary will see many of Beakerhead’s displays that bring together art and science in so many creative ways. Starting on September 19th, expect to see a lot of installations around the city. Here are ten Beakerhead events you can’t miss!

 

Beakernight

What: Beakerhead’s biggest party with lasers, fire, light and music. Check out this packed night of hands on experiences, installations and performances.
When: Saturday September 22, 6:00-11:00pm

The Intuition Project 

What: Explore our most elusive sense and dive into the world of extra-sensory perception. This hands on event welcomes all believers and skeptics to explore the power of intuition and decide for themselves.
When: Wednesday- Saturday: 8:00-9:30 pm

What: This event is family friendly and boasts a stretch of open-air experiments, artists and performers suitable for all.

Pulse and Bloom

What: Experience your heartbeat in visual form with this installation, bring a friend and see both of your heartbeats light up with different rates, up to twenty people can actually participate at once!

What: Check out this installation inside the +15 and see the physics of sound as a result of your movements.

Hidden Territories

What: This Beakerhead feature has four locations, to the naked eye it looks like a normal recycling bin. However, once you peek inside you’ll see a hidden world. Find them, and let us know what you thought of the plays on scale and imagination.

Zorbathon

What: Check out this oversized playground, and take part in the rolling races, bump-a-thons and obstacle courses. Food trucks are on site if you get hungry.
